Very satisfied. An unexpected incident occurred during the trip, and the rental company promptly allocated another car, ensuring our journey was not affected. Both pickup and return processes were very convenient, with clear instructions.
The counter staff at AutoUnion was very helpful. Magda provided lots of information about the island and best places to visit. She has also recommended nice restaurants and supermarkets and marked them all on the map. The whole process was smooth and easy.
The overall condition of the car was terrible. It was an old vehicle with over 100,000 kilometers. The left-side mirror had been replaced and could no longer be adjusted automatically, only manually. The seatbelt was loose and wouldn’t retract properly. The interior leather was very worn, with some parts even cracked. The rear wiper was broken, and the car lacked sufficient power for desert highway driving, raising concerns about its safety.
When picking up the car, I only took photos of the car's body but not the windows. After picking up the car, I noticed two impact marks on the front windshield but didn't pay much attention to them. A couple of days later, the glass started cracking from the impact points, and the cracks kept spreading. When returning the car, the rental company insisted on deducting the entire deposit. Due to the language barrier, I couldn't be bothered to argue with them. I regret not taking photos at the time!
Do not choose this company under any circumstances! They deducted 2000 from the deposit, claiming there were three traffic violations, and refused to return any of it. Totally outrageous! Poor vehicle condition, old car with 170,000 kilometers, and no cruise control. It's a scam for anyone who uses them!
The vehicle was decent, but the service attitude was average. I landed at 11 AM and called them, but had to wait for over an hour before they arrived. By the time I got the car, it was already 1 PM, a full 2 hours later. They also charged a cleaning fee when returning the car.
Average, they required a €1600 pre-authorization, which is outrageous. Ended up with a Peugeot 3008, the car was rather old with over 50,000 kilometers on it, and it lacked a rearview camera and Bluetooth.
The car was scratched by a third party, who was fully responsible. We reported to the police and followed the proper procedures. However, the store still forced us to pay a repair fee of $3600 upfront and charged a 3.5% service fee. Later, the full insurance from the rental platform reimbursed the repair fee but did not cover the service fee. We ended up spending an extra 500 RMB!
In addition to credit and debit cards, you can now pay for online car rentals with cryptocurrency! Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) are accepted. Curious about how long a Bitcoin transaction takes or how to pay with Bitcoin? Read our FAQs for more details.
