Other than the car not being super new, everything else was great! The shuttle came really fast, the staff guy explained everything clearly and didn’t try to sell us any extra nonsense. The zero-excess insurance was only about 30 bucks a day, super cheap, and once you buy it they don’t even bother with a detailed inspection, so you’re not stressed about little scratches or dings. Plus it was a diesel, crazy fuel-efficient — about 2,100 km on just two tanks of gas.

The rental company was pretty efficient and the service was great, but the car I got wasn’t the model I booked and didn’t really suit my needs.

It was a very pleasant car rental experience. After landing at the airport, the directions to the pickup point for the car rental company were a bit unclear, so we ended up asking for directions to find it. Other than that, everything was perfect—they provided a free child safety seat and even gave us a phone holder.

The car had plenty of space, a roomy trunk, and solid performance. It ran on diesel, which is more fuel-efficient than gas. Everything went smoothly, and the pick-up and drop-off process was super convenient.

They swapped me into the same model, the location was easy to find and there was no pushy upselling.

Got a blue X-Trail, it had a foot brake and no tripod or anything, but with full coverage I didn’t really have to worry. The whole road trip went super smoothly, returning the car was easy too—just fill up the tank. You can tell the car’s done a lot of miles, but it still drives fine. Self-driving is honestly so convenient!

Car and customer service was very good. Overall I felt the entire experience was seamless. Would have preferred easier means to contact them prior to pickup but that’s ok.

The car pickup was very smooth. However, the car was a bit old, lacked cruise control, and the positions of the wiper and light controls were swapped, so it took some getting used to. The restrictions that changed midway were a bit too much, but luckily the ferry ticket remained unaffected.

Extremely satisfied! On the day we went to the South Island, there was heavy snow in the mountains. We rented a compact car, and the staff at the store kept reminding us to be cautious. In the end, they even provided us with snow chains for the car free of charge (normally priced at 4 NZD per day).
