The staff at the car pickup was very friendly. Since there were times when we couldn't understand each other, we went back and forth using translation software, which took quite a bit of time, but he was very patient. The car provided was a DS model, though I don’t know the specific version. However, the car had numerous scratches. As it was my first time renting a car, I had read online that you should be very meticulous about documenting scratches. Due to the large number of scratches, we spent over 40 minutes just taking photos. After picking up the car from the basement level 4, we communicated with the staff, who said we only needed to take photos and didn’t need to add anything to the contract. He assured us that as long as there were prior photos, any issues later wouldn't be heavily pursued, and this turned out to be true. The car was given to us with a full tank of gas and a remaining range of 560 kilometers recorded. When returning the car, we refueled to full at a gas station very close to the store, but the remaining range showed only 540 kilometers. There was nothing we could do since it was already at full capacity. At the time of returning the car, no issues were raised, but later we discovered that 8 euros had been deducted from our credit card deposit! We suspect this was due to the 20-kilometer discrepancy. Keep in mind that in Europe, one liter of gas costs just 1.6 euros, and we had already refueled fully.
Terrible experience, definitely avoid this company, absolutely avoid them!!!!
First, I called the rental office and was told they'd pick me up in 5 minutes, but I ended up waiting for 30 minutes.
Then, I headed to the rental office, which was quite far.
After reaching the office, I had to wait in line for around 1 hour as there were only 2 staff members.
While waiting, you'll even see huge spiders crawling on the ground.
When it's finally your turn, they informed me that my reserved car was unavailable and offered a free upgrade. However, the deposit required was 1280 euros, despite me having already purchased full insurance through the rental company's official coverage.
Even if you buy the rental company's full insurance, not domestic insurance through rental platforms, they still force you to purchase an additional insurance at the store, costing around 20 euros per day. The deposit then drops to 80 euros.
This is blatant forced consumption.
Having rented cars in Greece at least 5-6 times, this is the only time I felt extremely dissatisfied!
It’s a major scam. Do not go to this company.
The car's electronic start and Bluetooth were not working properly. When picking up the car, there were some paint damages on it. I asked the rental company staff whether I should take photos, and I was told it wasn't necessary; I just needed to show them upon return (confirmed this with two different staff members). However, during the return process, the staff said that these damages should have been reported via email at the time of pickup, not during return. I later discovered that the rental company had written the email and phone number incorrectly on the contract. To avoid potential issues, I sent an email to the company, but it took several days to get a reply, and the issue of updating the incorrect information wasn't addressed.
The car they gave me was too large for narrow Majorca roads. The check in process was laborious with the staff giving misleading information in order to try to get me to take insurance (I already had excess insurance). I will never use Record Go again!
The car provided was a DR brand, which I later found out online was a Chery car rebranded by the Italian company DR. The car's condition was mediocre, and the carpets in the front row had two large holes worn through. I had to tear a cardboard box to place over them. When picking up the car, there were a lot of people, but only two staff members who were being very slow, so it took over two hours to get the car. The phone number was always unreachable! I tried calling the number on the order from the time my plane landed until after I returned the car, and it never went through. Later, I requested to return the car in a different city, Seville, due to my travel itinerary, but the request was denied. They also refused a delayed return request, so I had no choice but to drive through the night without rest to Madrid to return the car.
