Pretty good. Although there was a promotion for insurance when picking up the car, once I told the staff I was willing to leave a deposit and didn't want to buy their recommended insurance for over 80 euros, they didn't push further.
The service was enthusiastic and proactive, but the provided car was in poor condition. It took an hour and a half to pick up the car, and there were more damages on the vehicle than recorded by the company. The right rearview mirror's turn signal was broken and exposed, forcing me to switch to another car. The replacement car also had several unrecorded damages. The pickup experience was very unpleasant.
Record Go's location is outside the airport. After landing, you take a shuttle to their office for pick-up and drop-off. A deposit of €1200 is required, but if you don't want to pay this amount, you can opt for additional insurance costing around €80. Additionally, you need to pay approximately €80 for fuel upfront during pick-up, which will be refunded if the car is returned with a full tank. It's been two days since I returned the car, but the deposit and fuel refund have not been processed yet. I was informed that the standard processing time is seven days, with a maximum of thirty days.
The car provided was a DR brand, which I later found out online was a Chery car rebranded by the Italian company DR. The car's condition was mediocre, and the carpets in the front row had two large holes worn through. I had to tear a cardboard box to place over them. When picking up the car, there were a lot of people, but only two staff members who were being very slow, so it took over two hours to get the car. The phone number was always unreachable! I tried calling the number on the order from the time my plane landed until after I returned the car, and it never went through. Later, I requested to return the car in a different city, Seville, due to my travel itinerary, but the request was denied. They also refused a delayed return request, so I had no choice but to drive through the night without rest to Madrid to return the car.
In addition to credit and debit cards, you can now pay for online car rentals with cryptocurrency! Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) are accepted. Curious about how long a Bitcoin transaction takes or how to pay with Bitcoin? Read our FAQs for more details.
