Our group of 8 rented two cars in Venice. During the booking process, we selected the option for cross-border travel to Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The customer service at the rental platform informed us that this rental company allowed cross-border travel and also sent us an email reminding us of this. At pick-up, we explicitly informed the staff of the countries we needed to cross and inquired about any additional fees. The staff did not charge any extra fees and handed the cars over to us. However, when we tried to enter Bosnia and Herzegovina from Montenegro, we were denied entry due to missing vehicle documents required by the rental company. We attempted entry at two different border crossings but faced the same result, which severely disrupted our travel plans. If we had abandoned our plans for Bosnia and Herzegovina, we would have lost the cost of three nights of hotels there and incurred additional costs for three more nights in Croatia. As a result, we were forced to spend an entire day driving back to Dubrovnik, Croatia, to rent two new cars for €400 and then re-enter Bosnia and Herzegovina. This disrupted our originally planned road trip, adding over 10 hours of extra driving. After contacting the platform to address this issue with the rental company, the platform actively helped with communication, but the rental company's efficiency was extremely poor. We were very disappointed with their service. If you plan to travel across borders to non-EU countries, I strongly recommend avoiding this rental company!
Very good! The only issue was that my flight landed an hour early and I cleared customs quickly. When I arrived at the counter, they said my car wasn't ready yet. I had to wait until my scheduled pickup time to get the car.
We rented a T-Cross but were given the smaller Taigo instead. The full insurance from the rental company cost 820 euros, which was a bit expensive, but everything else was fine.
Very satisfied. The car rental counter is located inside the airport and handles bookings for several rental companies. Waiting time depends on the number of customers, so make sure to take a ticket first—just like at banks to process your turn. Once you're done, head to the parking lot inside the airport to meet staff and pick up your car.
This booking included QEEQ's comprehensive insurance purchased online and allowed for one-way car drop-offs. Since I didn't purchase insurance at the local branch, I carefully followed the staff's instructions and took pictures of all visible scratches on the car. The staff said they don’t count scratches under 5cm—seems it's not as tricky as some online reviews suggest. To be safe, I photographed all scratches even ones they didn’t point out. They held a €500 deposit, which was fully refunded to my credit card within two days of returning the car. I encountered no unauthorized charges—overall, very satisfying!
Note: Since the one-way drop-off happened over the weekend, the local staff finished work at 1 PM, meaning any drop-offs after that would incur an extra €20 service fee. I only discovered this after reviewing the detailed QEEQ booking confirmation. I contacted their customer service to confirm the situation, and it turned out to be accurate. I could only envy the relaxed work schedules of Europeans.
The car I received matched the model I booked. As an experienced driver, I found it somewhat hard to drive—the steering wheel was heavy, and the air conditioning was average. Everything else was fine, but it wasn’t as easy to drive as the small car I’d rented from another company in Rome previously. Overall, this rental company proved to be reliable.
No real service provided; they barely explain how to use the car and don't clarify the return process. They just seem eager to finish and move on. The service is unprofessional, but they do answer questions. It feels like they're reluctant to explain things properly.
Not bad. Upon arrival at Malpensa T1, there is a centralized car rental counter area. Alamo doesn’t have its own separate counter, sharing a storefront with a few other brands. Look for Lucamotive. Now, you take a ticket from the self-service machine at the entrance and wait for your number to be called. The process is pretty standard: once completed, they will give you a car pickup slip. Walk to the parking lot to get the car—there are two sections, so make sure to ask for directions. I booked a Skoda Octavia wagon but got a Seat Cupra instead. It's a sporty car with high-end features. On Italian highways, remember to use the “Carte” lane to pay tolls directly with a credit card. Since my departure flight was at Bergamo Airport, the address provided was completely wrong—it leads you to the terminal departure area. Unload your luggage first. Then self-drive to the correct location. Eventually, I found the return point at the airport's P3 Car Return area. Each rental company has its designated section there. Look for Lucamotive again. The staff handled the return quickly—just signed and you’re done. At the far end of the return parking lot, there's a free shuttle bus that runs roughly every 10 minutes. It takes around 10 minutes to get to the terminal.
Had a very pleasant car rental experience. Received a brand-new SEAT, which is not yet available in the garage. Great performance, low fuel consumption, and driving in Italy was comfortable. The deposit was refunded promptly.
The day before, I stopped by to confirm the details. Seeing that there were three of us with a lot of luggage, they upgraded us to a Peugeot 3008 when we picked up the car the next day. They carefully walked us through an inspection of the car, proactively pointed out two small scratches, and suggested we take a video. They patiently taught us how to connect the phone to the navigation system. Since I purchased full insurance through the app, there was no upselling at the store. Returning the car in Rome was convenient; the drop-off was on the third floor of a building at the airport. They mentioned that the deposit would be refunded within a week if there were no issues, and it was refunded as promised. Overall, the service was excellent. Note that for the deposit, the driver's chip credit card (VISA or MASTER) is mandatory; magnetic stripe cards are not accepted.
In addition to credit and debit cards, you can now pay for online car rentals with cryptocurrency! Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) are accepted. Curious about how long a Bitcoin transaction takes or how to pay with Bitcoin? Read our FAQs for more details.
