I booked a gas car on QEEQ, but when we got to the counter the staff just looked at the booking and gave us an EV instead. After seeing it was electric, we went back and asked to change the car, but the guy refused, wouldn’t even look at the booking properly and had a pretty bad attitude, telling us to talk to his supervisor. We finally found the manager, showed him the reservation and he swapped it for a Renault gas car. Driving in Europe is still much more convenient with a petrol car—using an EV was really inconvenient.

Super satisfied with the whole experience.

They gave me a MINI, and even though people always say it drives like a go-kart, this generation feels pretty average. It even feels kind of heavy when you’re actually driving it.

Pick-up and drop-off were pretty smooth, but there was no staff around when I returned the car. About an hour later they charged me 1,611 euros, claiming there were scratches on the body. I’m still dealing with the insurance claim now, luckily I had taken out the extra full coverage.

Avis’s rental form comes in both Chinese and English, which is honestly the most convenient I’ve seen so far. I booked a BMW 1 Series and they gave me an Alfa Romeo B‑segment instead, so it was actually an upgrade. The car had an Eco sticker, so you can enter a lot of low‑emission zones, but you still need to avoid some ZTL areas that are residents‑only, like the old towns in Seville and Ronda. This car runs on 95 octane and surprisingly even had regen. When I picked it up, a full tank showed 520 km of range, and by the time I returned it, a full tank was showing 780 km — the next driver is probably going to be shocked when they see that.

It was okay overall.

Excellent service. They recommended an electronic toll pass, basically like ETC, and it worked great—saved us a lot of time at toll booths.

If 100 is a perfect score, I’d give them about an 88. Overall the service was solid, but there’s one thing I have to point out.
I showed up right on time at 12:00 to pick up the car. They did arrange a same-class vehicle for me (another VW SUV), but when we got to the parking lot they told me the car still wasn’t cleaned and asked me to wait… The problem is, this waiting time doesn’t get reflected anywhere – I still had to return the car at the original time stated in my booking.
After I insisted, the staff on site verbally agreed I could return the car 30 minutes later (important detail: only he knew about this. When I returned the car, it was a different staff member who checked it in, and they just charged me for an extra full day).

Super quick and convenient. I told them I already had my own insurance and they were totally fine with it.

Because of the language barrier, it took quite a while to communicate when picking up the car.

Super satisfied overall. The staff were really friendly, knew exactly what they were doing, and we actually got a 9-seat Mercedes instead of the 7-seat we booked. The car was in great condition—really smooth rental experience.
