The Hertz - Frankfurt Airport car rental location is in terminal

You can walk to the counter of Hertz - Frankfurt Airport car rental.

There are two Hertz rental desks at Frankfurt Airport, one in Terminal 1 (Hall A), in the Airport City Mall Area, and one level above the train station. The other is in Terminal 2 (Hall D) at the car rental center on the arrivals level. Note: If you are unable to provide your flight number at the time of booking, please proceed to the counter at Terminal 1 for pick-up. Hertz rental desks are easily located within each terminal. If you wish to travel between terminals, you can take the yellow shuttle service between terminals, with stops at the front of each building. It leaves every 10 minutes and connects Terminal 1 to Terminal 2.

I told the staff that I had to go to Switzerland and paid Euro 35 for travelling accross the border. I understood that part and paid. I was told the car had most likely the required sticker for going across the border, which it did not have and I paid Euro 40 at the border. When I returned the car I was told I had to pay an addional 52 Euro border fees, which was all in all very disappointing as my currency is South African Rands which is x 20 in other words I had to pay R 1840 in addion which is a lot for me !

I scheduled the pickup time for 8 AM. I arrived a bit early and had to wait for a while. When it was my turn, I found out that the Mercedes E-Class I booked was not available, so I had to wait another half hour. In the end, they gave me a CLS350D with only 17 kilometers on it. Awesome! We were attended by a young man with an Asian face. Although there was a bit of a language barrier, his enthusiasm and responsibility left us very satisfied. Returning the car was very smooth. QEEQ is a very good and reliable platform, but we hope the discounts can be applied faster.

The process was quite simple. They only asked if I was sure about purchasing insurance. Seeing that we had a lot of luggage, they suggested upgrading to an SUV for an extra 25 euros per day. We got a Volvo XC90 with a navigation system, which was incredibly helpful. Otherwise, it would’ve been difficult to access Google Maps with local data, and Baidu Maps isn’t very useful here. Make sure to bring your domestic driver’s license and its translation; otherwise, they won't include it in the record. I forgot mine and almost had a serious issue, but fortunately, someone else had theirs.

In my view, the reserved models don't mean anything; you just get whatever car they have. Maybe it was a free upgrade in terms of cost, but this kind of upgrade made me really nervous while driving. I hope everyone can be punctual. Arriving on time at the counter will be quick, usually within 15 minutes. The counter staff is friendly and not verbose. Once asked if you bought full insurance, they won't recommend it again. I walked from the long-distance train station to terminal 1 to pick up the car. The route is a bit long, but there are many signs. If you plan to go to another country, be sure to mention it in advance. It should be noted on the receipt and the fee charged. Otherwise, you need to find a Hertz location near Germany to add to the contract before leaving the country, which can be inconvenient.

The vehicle was in excellent condition, allowing us to drive across nine countries and thousands of kilometers without any issues. The car keys were handy—doors automatically locked when we stepped away.
