Overall, the car pickup process was convenient. Since no claims occurred, I am not familiar with other service aspects. The car space was decent, and the trunk was quite spacious.

The office was fairly easy to find, and the manager was a young woman who actually seemed pretty experienced. Parking in Spain is insanely tight almost everywhere, which was really frustrating. When we first saw the rental car, we just couldn’t accept it at all—a 7‑seater that looked tiny. There were six of us, and we honestly couldn’t imagine how we were all supposed to fit. The manager told us, basically: if we don’t take this car, the rental we already paid is non‑refundable; if we wanted to switch to the 9‑seat Mercedes, it would be €200 a day. So we reluctantly took this “unbelievably small” car, squeezed six people in, and piled our luggage up like a mountain. Later, after driving into a few indoor car parks in Spain and Portugal, we realized how lucky we were—if we’d actually swapped to that Mercedes van, we’d have been in serious trouble, just trying to find and get into parking spaces would have driven us crazy. In the end we were genuinely thankful for that “cold and heartless” manager and her refusal to compromise.

The staff at Alamo car rental company were very friendly and professional. During our rental period, the car got scratched. An excess charge was initially held, but the damage assessment took a long time—53 days in total. However, the refund was processed promptly after the assessment report was issued.

The car rental company is pretty good overall, but they suggest you buy insurance or upgrade the vehicle to make you spend more money. Just ignore them and everything else is fine.

Our travel companions booked a Volvo XC60 just like us, but through another well-known travel website. Both were picked up from ALAMO car rental. We ended up with a new BMW X3 showing just over 6,000 km, while they got an older model Peugeot 5008 showing over 130,000 km. The difference is clear, and I think this showcases QEEQ's advantage.

They even gave us a free upgrade, and the pickup/return instructions were super clear, so it was really easy to find everything.

The service staff in Madrid were terrible, but those in Barcelona were especially great!

I originally booked a Mercedes A-Class but they upgraded me to an X5 for free. The car was quite new and really nice to drive. The staff were great both at pickup and drop-off, and their English was excellent. Big thumbs up.
