Avoid this company at all costs! Cheap doesn't mean good. While the rental price is low, there are hidden traps. As shown in the picture, they claimed the car was dirty and insisted on charging a €50 cleaning fee. It's like robbery. I offered to use wet wipes to clean it myself, but they refused, saying the car inspection at the return location is what matters. After renting many times, this is the first time I've encountered such a dishonest practice.
This is the second time I've rented a car from this location, but compared to the last time, the experience was average. The car was in decent condition, and the driver quickly came to pick me up from the airport after my call. However, just as I was about to finish the rental process, the staff informed me that I must return the car in the same clean condition as when I picked it up, or they'd charge a cleaning fee. It was only about ten euros, so I paid without thinking much about it, but the more I thought about it later, the angrier I got. I've been renting cars for over ten years, and this is the first time I've encountered such a charge. Generally, unless the car is excessively dirty, no cleaning fee is charged. Be careful not to waste your money on this.
Here’s a polished version of your feedback for posting on a third-party website:
I had a disappointing experience with RentalPlus regarding their airport pickup service at Milan Malpensa on February 29, 2025. Upon arrival, I followed the provided instructions and called their office, where a representative directed me to Arrival Gate 5 and asked me to call back for pickup. However, after reaching the designated location, my repeated calls (at least 15 attempts) went unanswered.
Left without assistance, I had to arrange my own transportation via Uber to their office, costing me €30. When I arrived, their staff acknowledged the issue and suggested I reach out for a refund, but I have yet to receive any resolution.
This experience was frustrating and inconvenient, and I hope RentalPlus improves their communication and reliability for future customers.
Average. The car rental company's service was decent, but the shuttle driver asked me for money to buy coffee. I told him I didn't have cash and could only pay digitally, but he insisted on cash.
Very satisfied. The person at the counter was an aunt dressed in casual clothes, which initially seemed unprofessional. However, it turned out that appearances can be deceiving. She was very meticulous and thorough in explaining the deposit refund process, and didn’t push any insurance. I requested an additional cleaning fee of about 10 euros (because I heard that car rental companies in Italy might charge a high cleaning fee if the car is too dirty upon return, and we were worried we wouldn’t have enough time to wash the car on the last day, so paying for a cleaning fee upfront gave us peace of mind). The aunt carefully explained that this cleaning fee, unlike the deposit, would be directly charged. Despite numerous experiences renting cars abroad, this was the first time someone explained the charges so clearly. She also reminded us to take photos of the car's exterior and fuel level before driving away. The only downside was that because every procedure was done very carefully, it took quite a bit of time to complete the paperwork. It wasn’t busy when we picked up the car, but even so, it took about 20 minutes for our group. I recommend setting aside enough time for car pickup when planning your itinerary. When returning the car, the rental company’s staff wasn’t present, possibly because we returned the car earlier than scheduled. Another company’s staff collected our keys and told us the rental company would send us an email after inspecting the car. We were concerned whether existing scratches or damage might be attributed to us since there was no immediate confirmation. However, everything turned out fine. Shortly after, we received an email confirming the car was in good condition, and a while later, the deposit was refunded. The entire pickup and return process went smoothly.
It was okay. Rented the car for three days but only used it for one day to visit Civita di Bagnoregio. On the return day, it was raining, and there were some rain stains on the car surface. They insisted on a car wash and charged 25 euros, which was a bit unpleasant.
The car rental service was decent. No unnecessary chatter, straight to the point, no upselling. They just asked if we needed any snow-related services. Overall, it felt good. Additionally, the shuttle driver only spoke Italian. He will ask for a parking ticket, and we had to use the app to tell him we were going to the rental location. Everything went smoothly overall. Although it may not be as polished as those large international companies, compared to other local companies I've used a few times, this one is pretty good.
