Driver's License Requirements

The main driver and any additional drivers must provide a full physical driving licence with no major endorsements. The license should be held for at least 1 year(s).

For foreign renters, you need to bring:

Please note that an International Driving Permit (IDP) is only a translation. You must present your original driving licence together with the original IDP at the counter — photocopies or scanned copies are not accepted.

EU/EEA Driving License

EU/EEA driving licenses are valid for car rental across the EU/EEA, as well as in Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

If the licence is not in clear Latin characters (and thus unrecognisable as valid), an IDP will be required at the counter (along with the original licence). If the licence is not in Latin numerals, both a translation and the IDP are needed.

Satisfied. They upgraded us to a brand new Qashqai (only 13 km driven). The pick-up and drop-off procedures were quick and convenient. We cleaned the car inside and out, and filled it up with gas before returning it. The staff inspected the vehicle and took photos. Everything was OK. Returned the car on the 4th of this month, and today I saw that the credit card pre-authorization for the deposit has been released. Recommended.

Very satisfied, highly recommend. Used translated Chinese driver's license to collect the car, the process was smooth, and the deposit was 500 euros. Note 1: The rental store is not at the airport rental car counters area; it is at the same place as the parking, in building C on the 4th floor, directly accessible from within the airport. Note 2: During the New Year, the ZTL restrictions in Rome change. If you're not familiar with ZTL rules, pay attention to road signs. In most cases, Google Maps will navigate around these zones, but if the destination is in the city center, it can be tricky. Most satisfied 1: Confirmed via email that I could return the car by myself early in the morning, just put the keys in the iron box next to the counter and don’t forget to take a picture. This solved my problem of having an early flight the next day. Most satisfied 2: Possibly got an upgraded model, the car was new and clean, although the screen was small, it was still smart. The steering wheel vibrates to return if you cross lanes. Most satisfied 3: The staff was very efficient and to the point.

When I arrived, the place was relatively empty, so there was almost no waiting time. The rental process went smoothly—they just briefly asked if I had purchased insurance from a third party, and once I confirmed I had, they didn’t push for additional insurance. The car was fairly new, with a mileage of 20,000 kilometers. Returning the car was also hassle-free; after the vehicle inspection, they confirmed everything was fine, and the deposit was refunded within about a week.

Overall, not bad. Arrived at the store half an hour early, but they wouldn't let me pick up the car until the scheduled time—too inflexible. Got a small Volkswagen SUV, brand new with just over 10,000 km on the odometer. The booking stated full-to-full fuel policy, but in practice, it's based on the fuel gauge reading, which is hard to manage precisely. If you return it slightly under, there's a penalty with no room for negotiation, so you end up over-refueling. The company is very strict about vehicle inspections. Upon return, they even check the underside of the front bumper for scratches by touch. The return process requires an in-person inspection with an immediate report. If you return the car on your own without this process, you can't verify the vehicle's condition later, and it could lead to disputes.
