Overall it was decent, nothing amazing but nothing to complain about either.

Pick-up and drop-off are at the same place, and there’s a shuttle that takes you to and from the airport, super fast and convenient. We rented on the Big Island for 6 days over the Spring Festival, booked early, and full coverage was only about 2,100 RMB. Even when the volcano erupted, they still kept our car for us, which was really reassuring.

It was okay overall, just your typical standard American-style service.

The wait time at the downtown store was quite long.

The store was a bit far from where we were staying, about a 15-20 minute walk. The store itself was quite small, and there weren't many cars to choose from. Hertz is a big company, so the service was nice. Returning the car was very convenient; just checked the fuel gauge at the airport and we were done.
