Overall service was good, the staff explained patiently, and there was no forceful upselling at the store. The process was relatively straightforward, but please note that if you plan to drive across borders, you need to apply for this separately at the store.
I booked a car from Avis, but ended up with a car from a brand called DR. After searching online, I found out that DR is a brand authorized by Chery for sales in Italy. Overall, the car was in good condition, with about 8000 km of mileage, and it was fairly new.
Quick pickup process without any insurance upselling, returning the car was straightforward as well—just handed over the keys, they inspected it, and it was done. Very hassle-free.
The vehicle provided was a compact Jeep. My flight arrived early, and I picked up the car less than an hour ahead of schedule, yet I was charged an extra half-day fee. There was no notification or explanation; instead, they claimed it was an additional fee for returning the car at a different location. It was only after Rentzucho helped mediate the situation that I realized I had been overcharged for half a day's rental. This was the first time I encountered such an issue. Honestly, I find it disappointing coming from a major rental company like Avis.
Extremely disappointing. We originally booked a Ford with calculated trunk capacity, but they gave us an Alfa that couldn't fit everything. When we contacted Zuzuche customer service, they said we could upgrade for an additional cost. After discussing with the store, they said upgrading wasn't possible and we could only cancel and rent directly at the store. They kept reminding us we only had a few minutes left to cancel for free. We ended up renting a Peugeot 5008 at the store for 2615.7 euros, but Zuzuche refused to refund the original payment. When we asked customer service, they said it was an upgrade based on the original order. Seriously? This is so frustrating. The entire trip was spent dealing with disputes. I really don't know how that customer service agent does their job—they couldn't even handle basic communication, which resulted in us paying twice for just one car.
