There is a common issue with car rental companies abroad nowadays. If you purchase insurance through the platform, they won't force you to buy additional insurance, but they charge a very high deposit. This is not just with this company; I have noticed the same issue with several others. This company, however, has an additional issue: they charge a €36 cleaning fee if the car interior is a bit dirty upon return. This is the first time I've encountered this, and it doesn't feel great. Everything else is fine, though.
After arriving at the airport, I called to make a reservation and was instructed to wait at doors 17/18 on the second-floor departure level for a bus labeled 'ParkinGo'. It was hot and sunny, and quite a few people were waiting for this company's bus. Fortunately, they had frequent buses, so I only had to wait a few minutes. During the paperwork process, they promoted their insurance. I didn’t purchase it since I was renting for only two days; I stuck with basic insurance, which means I would need to cover costs up to 2000 euros for an accident. I recommend full coverage if you’re not familiar with European road conditions or lack confidence in your driving skills. Upon inspecting the vehicle, I found it had visible damage all over. The tail lights were completely broken, and the dashboard showed a tail light malfunction alert. When I asked the staff, they said it was fine. The rear wiper was also broken — only the base remained, swinging loosely in the wind. The steering wheel made odd noises when turned fully. It’s 2025, yet this car didn’t have parking sensors, let alone a backup camera. Thankfully, it had wireless CarPlay, though it took 1–2 minutes to respond after starting each time. It was a diesel vehicle, so fuel efficiency was decent. The trunk could fit four suitcases and backpacks without much trouble.
Very satisfied, the service attitude was excellent, and the car pick-up and replacement procedures were simple. The deposit was refunded very quickly, and my credit card limit was released the day after I returned the car.
Deliberately hid vehicle damage in the contract and extorted several hundred euros after the return, which is many times the cost of renting. If you don't have insurance and haven't left enough evidence, you'll suffer a huge loss.
What satisfied me was that the rental package included snow chains for tires, and when stuck on a snowy slope, someone helped call for roadside assistance, which arrived within 2 hours to resolve the issue. What I wasn't happy about was the effort needed to contact the store when picking up the car—calling the number on the contract led to an Italian automated voice message without an option for English service. Thankfully, a police officer helped communicate and arranged the free vehicle pickup. I booked a Passat Station Wagon, but was given a Skoda Octavia Station Wagon instead, which is a lower-tier model.
In addition to credit and debit cards, you can now pay for online car rentals with cryptocurrency! Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) are accepted. Curious about how long a Bitcoin transaction takes or how to pay with Bitcoin? Read our FAQs for more details.
