Although the language communication wasn't perfect, we still managed to rent a car.

Extremely bad. A terrible car rental experience where I was forced to pay for various super insurance fees. I had already paid for basic insurance during the rental, but after returning the car, an additional 13,000 RMB was deducted for various super insurance and miscellaneous charges. This car rental company, AVIS, is highly deceitful. I strongly advise everyone to avoid this company as they are essentially scammers. They exploited our lack of knowledge in Italian, guiding us to sign contracts we couldn’t understand, forcing us to pay for unnecessary super insurance. Very disappointing. The other car rental companies I’ve used before did not charge such fees. Please learn from this painful lesson and avoid renting from this company. Even filing a claim proved nearly impossible to resolve because the rental company made us sign incomprehensible Italian contracts. This left us unable to pursue legal action, leading to a very frustrating and costly experience.

It was average. Initially, I confirmed a cheap car, but Avis canceled it. Then I ended up renting a more expensive one. During return, they insisted there was a scratch and charged 233 euros.

Convenient and fast

We picked up the car near Florence train station. The lady at the counter was quite rude and told us they didn't have any BMWs, only VW Golfs. When we contacted customer service, they asked to speak to her directly, but she refused to take the call and said, 'If you're not satisfied with our cars, you can go to another company,' then she moved us aside and called the next customer. We had to get a new number and wait in line again. The second lady was more polite and didn't mention different car models, but kept trying to sell us additional AVIS insurance. When we finally got the car, it was an almost new Alfa with only 2700 km on it. Returning the car at Milan train station was smoother; the staff were much friendlier, but the nearest gas station was 3 km away and privately owned.
