Rental pickup and drop offs went smoothly, but final billing has been a disaster!

Waited for over 45 mts for the car, no one to hand over car, no one to inspect,car had cigarette smell, When I was billed I was charged more than what I had booked. Car had check engine light going on and off

The car was great. Gas mileage was superb because it was a hybrid. No issues whatsoever with the car itself. My issue was with the Avis employee. I understand that they have to ask if you want to upgrade and/or purchase the insurance. I declined both. I reserve exactly what I need and nothing else. When I was asked to sign that I wasn't taking the insurance, the employee actually said, "sign here and say your prayers". My assumption is that he was joking, however as my insurance fully covers rentals, I did not think this statement was funny or appropriate.

All was a good experience.
