Originally booked a Chrysler 300, but was told at Newark Airport that it wasn't available, and that there's no guarantee it will be! Later, they offered a choice between a Cadillac XTS and a Chevrolet Impala of the same grade. Considering the trunk space, we chose the Impala. Fortunately, the car was very new, with only 8000 miles on it. Driving performance was good and we were quite satisfied. Initially planned to give a 3-star rating. We had reserved a same-location pickup and drop-off, but due to traffic reasons, decided to return the car in Brooklyn. Successfully changed the return location at a Hertz point near Washington for free, which was a pleasant surprise! Overall, a good experience.

There are many locations and the car condition is good. It’s very convenient to pick up and drop off the car. However, there weren't enough counters to handle the initial paperwork at San Francisco Airport, so we had to wait in line.

When we arrived there were no other customers and one desk staff. I approached the staff member and was told very abruptly that they were with someone else who was out looking at vehicles. It was a long wait for the other customer to finish and a long line developed and even though other Hertz staff were present they didn't start helping, even though three of them were involved Ina discussion about a birthday. It took about 50 minutes to get the car.

The counter staff was rude and condescending. The car I was finally offered was not sufficiently adjustable for me to be able to see over the dashboard.

It was fine except, I didn’t get the car I signed up for. Instead I was driving a smaller vehicle. The vehicle was not ready when I got there. They rinse the car since it was dirty.
