The car was in good condition, but there were hidden charges. I booked the car to be picked up at 2:30 PM, and actually got the car at 2:05 PM. I returned it exactly at 2:30 PM three days later. However, when I checked the bill, they marked my pickup time as 1:21 PM (did they count the time I waited in line?) and my return time as 2:40 PM. As a result, they charged me for an extra day. The worst part is that nobody mentioned any of this to me. It's truly unacceptable.
At the car rental desk, there was only one counter with 26 people waiting in line. It took 1 hour and 45 minutes from queuing to getting the car. Landing at 9:00 PM and driving off nearly at 11:00 PM. The efficiency was very low. Unfortunately, my process only took seven minutes, but some people ahead seemed to be choosing their car models on-site, which was very slow. Overall, the counter had few staff at night and lacked a sense of service. Despite customers waiting in long lines, they did not seem concerned, as if this situation was normal.
Time is essence in most cases and specially when you are tired already from flying and have to drive to the hotel after that.
If the service is fast, effecient and hassle free, there is nothing more to ask for.
They provided a box similar to an ETC device when renting the car, but it wasn't clear how to use it or how the charges worked. It is recommended that QEEQ offer an introduction or guide for renting cars in the Boston area. Also, they seemed to promote an insurance plan that costs around ten dollars a day, which should be explained as well.
Foreign staff may incorrectly assign insurance to you. If you have already purchased insurance in your home country, make sure to communicate clearly with them about this. When renting cars abroad, although full coverage may have been purchased domestically, language barriers and information gaps might lead to additional insurance being upsold, resulting in poor customer experiences. It's recommended that renters directly purchase insurance at international rental offices as needed to avoid duplicate expenses and unnecessary trouble. I rented a Toyota Sienna but was given a regular business vehicle instead.
The waiting time in line was a bit long. I had reserved a 7-seat Grand Cherokee L but was given an S model instead. I specifically confirmed with the counter staff that I needed the larger model, but upon reaching the parking lot, I found out the car was smaller. Unfortunately, I couldn't go back to the counter to request a replacement because the line was too long again. With 6 people seated, the entire journey felt a bit uncomfortable.
