Pick-up Instructions

The AERODRIVE - Christchurch Airport car rental location is in terminal

On arrival to Christchurch Airport, please make your way past the international arrivals hall and the rental car kiosk is located opposite door number 8. If your flight is delayed or cancelled, please let the location know, +64 3 666 0026. The counter will be staffed until the last flight is cleared for the day.

Drop-off Instructions

Please follow “Rental Car Returns” signages at the airport, Aerodrive parking is in Row L. An after-hours key drop box is available for all Christchurch Airport returns. So no matter what the time of day or night, you can return your hire car in time for your return flight home.

They did not have the car I requested, and tried to "upgrade"me to a larger car. Unfortunately, bigger does not always mean better when hiring cars to drive around an unfamiliar city. They then tried to give me a car that cost more per day. Eventually, they managed to "find" a car that was more suitable -- why it was not offered in the first place is a bit of a mystery.

I was stoked with $117 for a "corolla or similar" for 4 days but of course that was too good to be true, I got a sluggish Hyundai Accent instead. Still good value I suppose. The staff were ok but didnt go out of their way at all. I wasnt explained the drop off location and had to leave cash for parking as I dropped it in the wrong spot and didnt have time to move it. I left my phone in the car and had to wait half a day for them to retrieve it and then arrange my own courier.

I was given a Hyundai accent in almost new condition...not a Toyota. When I went to collect my vehicle was told I had to pay an extra $20 a day as I didn't have full coverage. When booked in Australia I thought I had it all paid for. Not happy. Service was fine

The service was excellent. They provided a detailed introduction to the car's condition and recommended reasonable additional insurance. The process of borrowing and returning the car was also very quick. We were able to pick up the car immediately upon arrival without any delay. Overall, it was a very good car rental experience.

Pickup and return were okay. However, when we had a flat tire and contacted the company, we were told we had to bear the tire responsibility ourselves. In fact, we had full coverage including tires and glass, so luckily we didn't pay out of pocket to fix the tire. Also, roadside assistance for changing the tire was free.

The check-in was very quick, but the car pickup location was not easy to find. You have to wait at a special parking area for the rental company's shuttle to take you to their office, which is not very convenient since they don't have a designated store inside the airport. However, the paperwork at car pickup was done very quickly without needing to show the order. Returning the car in Queenstown was also problematic as the return location was hard to find, which delayed us a bit. The detailed address provided by QEEQ was not accurate. Their return location is actually at 31 Glanten Street in a small standalone house with a car bearing the Aerodrive logo parked out front. Nevertheless, the car return process was simple and took less than 5 minutes.

The rental company is a 5-minute drive from the airport, and there was a shuttle service to pick us up. There were not many people when we arrived, so the process was quite efficient. The staff briefly explained safety precautions and the car's features.
