Chose to pick up the car from a branch near my residence in San Diego. Communication was smooth, no waiting in lines, no forced upselling, and the car was ready in 10 minutes with 7000 miles on it. Returned the car at Los Angeles Airport without any issues; just followed the GPS directions to get there. Gas stations near the airport made refueling convenient. The return process was simple and completed in 3 minutes. A shuttle bus right next to the drop-off point took me directly to Terminal B.

Counter staff at pick up very pushy trying to get us to upgrade. Said he wasn't happy with our choice of car for safety reasons!! Only driving from SD to LA! He said it had no luggage space, no cruise control and no Bluetooth connectivity. It had all 3! Would put me off using Alamo in the future.

The person checking us in (Valerie) was courteous and professional. She offered us an upgrade which we took her up on (FC or IC?). We had the choice of a fast car, a Toyota Camry or Van. As a family we decided on the Chrysler Pacifica which was a modern van and great to drive.

I rent a Kia Spotage and first they wanted me to have a mustang then I asked for a Kia and brought me a Toyota with 59,000 miles . OLD and not nice . The employer was not kind .

The car was not great... some parts didn’t work. The trunk was damaged so we had to lift the door to be able to close it after opening. The attendant was not very helpful with answering questions and helping out upon pickup

I was under the impression when booking my car that there would not be any extra charges after my initial payment, as I paid for the car in full at time of booking. However, when I arrived they charged an additional amount. I am disgusted by FOX and would not use this company again.

I did not get away from the counter until after 12:30 am. Line was long and slow. Nice people, but the process took WAY TOO long. At the rental I booked in Sacramento later in the week, it tool FAR less time to process things and there was not ADDITIONAL insurance required. I am going to check on the insurance that your company required. I had a BMW 530i that required no additional insurance???

The staff was courteous and the car was nicely cleaned. Just a heads up Ace will make you purchase their liability insurance. Although that was the case, the rental was well worth the money spent.

Agent at counter asked me if a Mitsubishi Galant was ok? I said "yes that's fine". At the end of the transaction I went to go look for car at the spot and it ended up being a Ford Fiesta instead. Not what she stated, so I was disappointed about that. And the fact that the car was not washed. SMH

The hidden fees were horrible at payless car rental. I will NEVER rent from them again. 2 week rental for $244 was the reason I went with them, then they put an extra $250 holding fee then they booked me for mileage when my mileage was supposed to be all included. No one told me that I couldn't travel to Sanfran. The lady at the desk specifically asked me where I was going and I told her San francisco and she didn't mention it to me at all! So I was charged an extra $150. At that rate of $650. I would have been better off going with budget or enterprise or anything other than payless... you definately do not pay less at payless car rentals.

The car did not even come close to my expectation. Never before have I rented a car that was a bare bones as this. When I reserved the car I expected to get a basic car. But this was way below basic (no power anything, windows doors) and then they tried to upsell/upgrade me at the counter for even just a basic car. if I would have know that was what I should expect I would have rented from another company and gotten a better car for the same price.

After having to wait for 2 buses to get to the off site rental office, we had to wait another 45 minutes at the rental car counter to get the car. Service at counter was EXTREMELY slow & unfriendly. We booked a 2 door economy car. When we finally got waited on, the only car available to us was a full size VAN (which was VERY difficult to get around in in Mission Beach)!! When we said we didn’t want a van, the only consolation MEX offered us was to cancel the rental. Dont know the point of making a reservation with this company when they don’t honor the reservation. Not worth the discount price. DONT USE THIS RENTAL COMPANY.

The MEX folks were very nice and helpful. The only drawback from renting from them was that the rental location requires 2 shuttles to get to; airport to airport shuttle drop off to rental location, so there's a fair bit of waiting involved.

My booking is for a Toyota Camry but i was told that all their Camry are out so they gave me a Hundai Accent. I told them i don't want a Hundai but they said they don't have anything else. I don't have any other choice but to take the Hundai. I was expecting for them to give me an adjustment on the price i paid. I hope my point and would expect a credit from you. Advantage charged my credit card and stated our gas tank was not full at drop off. We specifically found a gas station that was open at 4:45 am to fill up our gas tank. This fraudulent charge is very concerning about company practices.

Dislike: At the beginning they told me that I have to pay another 200$for insurance liability. I was very upset since you told that I am not going to pay anything at the counter. Then they told me that I don't need to pay that. That was a relief.The other point is that they asked me if I like to pay 10$/day for tolls so I payed for 8 days and I used it twice. It would be better if they explained how much does it cost each time because I saw on the highway that I was able to pay it on line
