CAR RENTAL REVIEWS ON THRIFTY IN AUCKLAND

You only need really basic English to get everything done.

The process is simple.

Picked up the car right inside the airport. During the process they asked if I was familiar with New Zealand road rules and whether I’d be driving on toll roads like those north of Auckland. They saw I only had basic insurance and asked once if I wanted to add more; after I said no, they didn’t push it at all. The whole pickup was quick and smooth.
They gave me an MX-5 hardtop convertible, which was an absolute joy to drive. I was really happy with the car. The only downside is the trunk can’t fit a large suitcase, so if you’re booking this model, check the luggage capacity beforehand. The roof opens and closes very quickly, which is super handy.
Returning the car was in the same parking area as pickup. Just follow Google Maps and the road signs and you’ll find it easily – very convenient.

No waiting around at all – just show up and pick up the car right away.

I can sum up this rental in three words: awesome, awesome, awesome!

They upgraded to a brand-new model for free.

It's acceptable.

Good

The service was quite good, and they even upgraded my car. The vehicle was easy to drive. The only downside was that the seatbelt had a strong mix of body odor and perfume. Everything else was great.

Quite good and easy to find.

Overall good, but an additional tax was charged for returning a diesel car.

The staff at the counter were super friendly and even upgraded us to a bigger car for free.

A really reliable company.

Highly satisfied

The whole process was really fast and smooth.

Picking up in downtown Auckland and dropping off at the airport was really convenient. The RAV4 had plenty of space, handled New Zealand roads well, was clean, and ran without any issues. The paperwork was quick and easy, and the whole experience was great—I'll definitely go with them again next time!

Service was pretty good overall.

Overall good, very convenient for pick-up and drop-off at the airport.
