We initially booked a Passat, but the staff warmly introduced us to an Insignia station wagon, which solved our concern about storage space. The car had only driven 6000 miles and was very new. It even had dual navigation systems, which felt quite luxurious. The trip covered 3500 kilometers in 21 days, costing around 2200 yuan in fuel (diesel cars are very fuel-efficient, 1.2 pounds/liter).
