Don’t trust Hertz

When I checked in I told the Hertz rep I would be a bit late dropping off the car and did I need to change the booking by 30 minutes. He said no, it was no problem and I didn't need to update the booking. My reservation ended at 1 pm and as indicated, I dropped the car at 1:25 pm. But when they emailed my receipt, they charged me $40 USD for one extra hour! Almost the same price as I paid for a whole day. Very dishonest given I asked in advance and could have amended the booking for a lower cost.

Overall service attitude was quite good, but there was constant upselling for a vehicle upgrade, claiming we had too much luggage and that the Ford Focus was too small, recommending a larger vehicle, which we firmly refused. In reality, the car we rented was in zone 3 area, where other cars like CRV4 and Nissan were also available. Therefore, it was possible to get a better car than what we had booked. It was raining heavily, and we didn't bother to choose carefully. The exterior looked fairly new, so we didn't switch. It had around 30,000 to 40,000 miles.

As a global chain company, their vehicle inspection is very professional. Any issues found during the inspection are photographed on the spot and uploaded to the app. If the customer needs, an electronic report can be sent to a designated email.

Worked very well. Customer service agent apologies for not being able to offer a Porsche. I was expecting all sorts of add ons at the counter but there weren't any.
