Great Value good car Thank you

i did not get the car i order i want refund for the balance

We expected a compact car similar to a Ford Focus. a car that has an engine of 1.6-2.0 liter with at least 125 HP. The Opel Crossland X that we were given had a weaker 1.2 - liter Turbo engine with 110 HP. Although we told the Europcar clerk that we are heading for the French Alps, he decided on that weak car. It was no pleasure at all to hear the engine scream climbing the steep ascents in the Alps or trying to keep the car at 130 km/hour on the freeway. I am still waiting for the final charge on my credit card, to see if the deposit was released from it.

Will never use Europcar again! And will never hire from the French side of Geneva airport again - both are too much stress and hassle! No winter tyres available on a car that will spend 90% of its time driving up the alps? Then told because I didn’t have winter tyres I need to up the insurance to cover - double the rental. Then told car I ordered not available and to get a car we could fit our luggage in I needed to pay an upgrade, not happy! Then access to French side of Geneva airport is unmarked and very difficult to find - even with Satnav. Whole rental was a very stressful experience for 80 miles driven to resort and back, next time we will use a transfer service!

Like: Where Ryanair use frankly baffling language and terms to confuse what can and can't be taken as booster seats the team at Europcar were exactly the opposite. One email to the head office resulted in a chain of helpful emails and a member of the team to meet us with a choice of booster seats. The staff were friendly and helpful, the car was great and the handovers swift and painless.

Like: Cheap rental but great service and upgrade in the car offered. A bit remote from the terminal (10min free bus drive) but efficient pick up and drop ! Would recommend definitely
Dislike: Didn't prepared for a bus drive but in Lyon it seems now mandatory.
