I was quite satisfied with the overall service during this car rental experience. I’d give it 5 stars. The rental price was reasonable compared to previous occasions. Besides the 300 euros deposit, there was an additional 30 euros service fee. The Volkswagen car we rented was manufactured in 2024 and had only 2,100 kilometers on it when we picked it up—a brand-new car. We booked the car pickup for 9:00 AM and arrived a bit earlier, but the counter staff told us to come back at exactly 9:00 AM to proceed. The rental process was simple; they asked if we had insurance, we showed them our insurance documents, and they didn’t try to sell us additional coverage. Returning the car was even more convenient—just drive it into the garage, hand over the keys, and you're done. No further formalities were required. Compared to our experience with ALAMO in Zurich last June, which was a disaster, this was so much easier. From now on, we’ll rent with Europcar. Although their costs might be slightly higher, the pickup and return process is hassle-free, the cars are well-maintained, and the overall experience is reliable.

Great service

Very dissatisfied. I booked a Touran, but ended up with a seven-seater van. This made our trip very inconvenient, especially given the narrow streets and height restrictions in European parking garages. The rear seats could be adjusted as per the instruction manual provided, but it was difficult to install. When I sought help from the staff, they threatened to fine me 1000 euros for adjusting the seats, despite there being instructions in the car indicating that we could adjust them ourselves.

The rental cost did not match the amount shown at drop-off, being about 30 euros higher. The actual charge was significantly higher than shown at drop-off, around 40 euros more, which was very disappointing.

The process was quick and straightforward, the car was new and easy to drive.
