Since I frequently travel to Australia, and this year alone I've been there three times, I still recommend Hertz. The downside of AVIS is that the full insurance has to be purchased through QEEQ, and if there's an accident, you have to pay upfront and get reimbursed after returning to the country. This is a disadvantage compared to Hertz, where their full insurance allows you to not worry about anything.

Dislike: tried to upsell a larger car at pickup for 2 suitcases. a bit pushy - i dont mnd the suggestion but the reason was lame
