Avia's service is quite reliable and follows standard practices. When picking up the car, they clearly informed me that purchasing additional insurance could reduce the compensation required in case of an accident. Confident in my driving skills, I chose not to buy extra insurance, and there were no unnecessary troubles during the car return.
The staff at the counter was very friendly and efficient. She briefly explained the contract terms and mentioned that since we had already purchased full insurance through the rental platform, there was no need to buy additional insurance from the rental company. The car we received was very new, and the parking lot staff pointed out all the existing scratches so we could take pictures. They also explained the fuel type and return process before leaving.
Returning the car was very straightforward. The staff walked around the car, checked the fuel level by starting the engine, and that was it. Around 20 days after returning the car, the pre-authorized deposit was refunded.
The flat tire occurred on a weekend night, with the damage on the side of the tire, making it irreparable. Customer service told me to handle it myself, but I couldn't stay where I was, as it would delay others' accommodations and ticket bookings the next day. In the end, I had to call roadside assistance to replace the tire. The following day, I arrived in Zagreb and replaced a pair of tires as required by the rental company. One flat tire ended up costing me three tires.
The AVIA staff were very professional and explained everything clearly. The guides led us to the parking lot to pick up the car, and the vehicle was in great condition with just over 17,000 kilometers. We were upgraded from a Volkswagen Golf to a Peugeot 3008. However, there were long lines at the AVIA counter while other counters were relatively empty. The rental company is reliable and worth recommending to friends.
They were very detailed with the car damages, which were many. Customers are expected to check the car in details and take photos and videos, otherwise it is very likely you will be charged with those damages when returning the car. They are very detailed and thorough with checking!
Extremely satisfied, they provided a brand new car with only 800 kilometers on it, very lucky. Both pickup and drop-off were very smooth and convenient.
The location in Zagreb was easy to find. They asked if I wanted additional insurance during the process, but everything went smoothly. Returning the car at Dubrovnik Airport took a bit of searching, but the inspection process was seamless.
