The staff had a very good attitude and their English was average. There was no hard-selling; we proactively purchased full insurance locally, which cost 36 euros per day. With full insurance, there was no need for a thorough vehicle inspection, and returning the car was very convenient—just park the car and drop the keys in a box. We arrived a bit late, and the smaller car we originally booked was unavailable, so they gave us a slightly larger vehicle, a Volkswagen Taigo. It was very easy to drive, especially on winding mountain roads, and provided a comfortable driving experience. It can fit a 28-inch suitcase.

“Ecovia is a rip-off rental company”

Worst of all time in my life... They charged me over 80 EUR for a plastic hubcap "damage" that I could not prove has been caused before the pick-up. Fortunately, I had extra insurance from Easyrentcars that paid for the total amount of this rip-off charge, but it has caused me a lot of time-consuming hassle.

“highly disappointed with ecovia service”

1. Ecovia provide the car with half fuel tank, but did not mention it in a document. I was not able to identify this on pick up, since the dash board has 2 fuel meters: CNG and Gas, I was lookin on the Gas, not being aware of the 2d. I've sent an email, requesting to confirm this done by intention, few days later to both central and pick-up (Bergamo airport) office, but got no reply. Have remind them 2 time more, got no reply. They eventually replied right after my car was returned, but did not relate to my question at all. Finally, I requested to refund me for half tank, as I returned the car, but there was no refund. 2. Ecovia provide me with a car with CNG fule, which was highly uncomfortable to find a fule station for it. On counter they said they have only this kind of car.

“Autovia/ Ecovia worst company for customer service”

When we got to the check in point they tried the hard sell of more insurance. We told them that we had already paid for the fully waiver insurance bring our excess down to £0. They kept stating this was not the case. I showed them my phone and they they changed their statement to well it it’s not through us so you need it again which is not the case. The first car we were shown was dirty and we were told to bring the car back clean. I asked why I had to clean a dirty car? The person that came out to inspect the car with me confirmed to the sales lady that it was dirty so there should be no charge. On entering the vehicle we noticed that they had issued us with a manual transmission. I went back to the desk and showed them their voucher which said Auto. They told me that this was just a car. Again I had to get the Easyrentcar email out to prove that we had ordered a Automatic. After we found this we got an Automatic. We feel like Ecovia tried everything to give us the cheapest car first for top money and didn’t want to give me the car that we had ordered. They charged the wrong credit card so we had to paid for 2 deposits (1 was returned the same day) otherwise we would have to pay a further €18 for their incompetence. The return was easy and the same guy came to inspect and we had no issues with him. Only the sales lady!! This whole experience of renting a car has put us off. We have rented many cars in the past and it has been very easy. To all be warned about Ecovia/ Autovia they will try and get all the money they can out of you and not provide you the car you paid for.
