Returned the car in Zurich, the staff checked and said everything was fine. Yet, after returning home, the bill claimed the fuel tank wasn’t full. Scam company, Europeans don't seem very credible in this case.
Hertz was very efficient and didn’t try to upsell insurance. They asked if I planned to travel to other countries and then apologized for not having any Mercedes available. I was offered a choice between the XC40 and BMW 3 Series, and I decided on the Volvo. It was indeed very smooth to drive.
The staff at the pickup location was very nice, quietly and quickly handling the paperwork. He asked about insurance, and after I declined, the process continued smoothly. The cross-border fees were waived, which I truly appreciated! When returning the car, the store staff had already left, so I dropped the car key into Hertz's self-service return box. The car was parked about 30 meters ahead of the store, in the corner of a used-car parking lot.
The staff's service attitude was excellent and very patient, thumbs up! However, when I picked up the car, I found the cleanliness of the vehicle to be quite poor, much worse than Sixt. There was a lot of dust around the windows, dirt in the central storage compartment, and a thick, curly hair stuck in the cigarette lighter. That was quite gross!
