They still tried to upsell the super insurance, but we decided to pay a bit extra so we wouldn’t have the $1,000 rental deposit tied up on our card and could add an extra driver. If we’d known this in advance, we wouldn’t have bought the super insurance online and would’ve just added it at the counter to avoid paying twice. The deposit amount is high and the hold lasts for a long time.

The car pick-up process was quick, but it's very far from Melbourne Airport! On the day of return, the keys got locked inside the car. When I called the rental company's phone number, they refused to assist. I had to seek help from the local tracking system, and a service person came to unlock the car! I can only say that the rental company is completely irresponsible in such incidents; it was the local tracking system department that was helpful, providing free service and taking no charge!

The service was good, and picking up the car was quite convenient. However, the car wasn't very new, having already clocked 100,000 kilometers, but its condition was still acceptable.

Other then the short wait for transport to an offsite location from the airport, the service and vehicle were at the same standard as the big provider just at a better price. Will be having staff use East Coast more often.
