I originally rented a Honda, but when I arrived, they said there were no cars available. They offered me a replacement at double the price and refused a refund.

The self-drive trip in Scotland was not as easy as expected, mainly because I'm not used to left-hand driving. However, the car performed very well overall.

Car was a competitive rate, ideal size and generally sound if a little dirty. Location is about 10 minutes from the airport, a shuttle bus is provided but operated by a parking company and not good 'easyrent' identification signage to see it. Car was not clean when collecting, difficult to inspect for any damage to sign off collection paperwork. Return was challenging (before 6.30 am), office not open, told to park on kerb on street and return keys to nearby car park company - created unecessary risk for me as a customer. TLDR: Overall car as described and had competitive rates, staff were friendly -but- cleanlienesss of car, shuttle bus signage / instructions and return process system could be much better.

Booking always usually good with easyrentcars

There were some hidden costs for the extra insurance. We paid for the insurance online with the booking, but we were told we should get more insurance, which added 200 pounds onto our costs. It would have been better to know this beforehand.

Do NOT rent a car with EASIRENT. (the car renting company, not the booking platform) The pick up process was beyond terrible, lasted over 1 hour and we felted scammed! We had already paid for insurance when we booked the car online, and the first thing they offered when we arrived was to buy insurance again otherwise a 1500£ deposit was required (higher than what was in the booking e-mail). Other members of our group (not the main driver in the booking) had valid credit cards but we were not allowed to used them, and thus the main driver had to contact the bank about the credit plafond. While we were waiting the staff was rude to us asking if we would take long and they had other things to do. We were taking long because they added several complications and would not accept other credit cards!! The whole process took over 1 hour, it was a terrible experience and they tried selling their own insurance over what we had already paid several times (se we wouldn’t have to pay the 1500£ deposit), it felt very much like a scam.
