The Indian staff provided excellent service and even reminded me that there are toll roads on the North Island. I actually drove on two of them.

The car rental company is a 5-minute drive from the airport, with a shuttle service that is fairly quick. We waited a short while to get the car, and when returning it during business hours, they did a quick check and then took us to the airport. We soon received a return email. Overall, aside from the car being a bit old, it was a pretty good experience.

The vehicle is new, with over 20,000 kilometers on it. I bought fuel for 88 NZD, which was at a 20% discount for a full tank. I didn't check the fuel gauge when returning the car.
