Although the staff provided service in Chinese, they spoke very little. The actual card charge was more than the amount shown on the car rental website without any explanation. It wasn't until I consulted the rental company after returning to Beijing that I slightly understood why. Overall, it caused unease.

The location is very convenient.

Hertz rental company employees are professional and provide detailed explanations of vehicle conditions, New Zealand road conditions, driving precautions, and car insurance. Due to being a large company, there are many people picking up cars, resulting in longer waiting times. The vehicle condition is average, with several minor scratches on the exterior. Make sure to record and confirm these with rental company staff when picking up the car.

Firstly, the deposit hasn't been refunded yet! Secondly, I rented the car for one day and chose the full tank option, thinking they would deduct according to consumption, but they only refunded a certain percentage of the remaining fuel. The front desk didn't inform us about this when we booked. Frustrating. However, the service attitude was quite good. Just be cautious, everyone.

Picking the vehicle up from Auckland Airport was a little frustrating as the vehicle we hired wasn't ready for collection as it hadn't been cleaned. Required us to stand around and wait patiently whilst this happened. Coming off a 3.5hr flight with 2 kids isn't exactly what you want to do as I had made the booking nearly 4 weeks prior, so the Hertz team had plenty of notice to get the vehicle ready.
