Waited 40min on sidewalk for pickup.

It felt okay overall, and people in Sydney seemed generally nicer than those in Melbourne. I got a free upgrade to a Mitsubishi Outlander when picking up the car, but during the inspection, I noticed a nail in the tire. They replaced it with a Nissan X-Trail instead. When returning the car, I was worried that their 8 AM opening time might be too late, so I followed the instructions at their office to return the car at the Andrew parking lot next door, only to find they charged me AUD 45. I was speechless, but the service itself was fine. In hindsight, waiting for Apex to open and returning it there would have made no difference in reaching the airport on time. I suggest choosing basic insurance and then upgrading to full coverage for AUD 349 at the car rental location—the total cost is roughly the same. PS: Roadside assistance will cost AUD 250 regardless of the situation. Parking fines are very expensive, so make sure to follow traffic rules and check the signs!

The staff were very nice. This is one of the few rental companies that accept 'UnionPay', which makes it an easy choice for the future. I would recommend it to others as well.

BAD SERVICE AND HOTLINE NOT WORKING! Our flight was 10 am at the morning, the staff told us 3 hours prior to returning the car. When we arrived Apex at 7 am in the date of return. The office was only open at 8 am. The staff knew we will take the 10 am flight when we pickup the car, but didn’t remind us the office opening hours and the out side office hours drop off arrangement. And we tried to contact Apex by the hotline number shows at the office front door, which never connected. Very bad service and bad experience. NEVER HIRE APEX CAR AGAIN!!!!!!
