Very convenient, no upselling, simply fill out your personal information, provide traffic rules to be aware of in Iceland, hand over the keys to pick up the car, and returning it just involves a quick inspection of the vehicle.
The staff was responsive and friendly. However, when driving, you must set the car lights to full beams regardless of outdoor lighting conditions—it can't just be set to auto as commonly done in China. I asked the staff multiple times for confirmation and even had them check inside the car. They said 'auto' was fine, but this was incorrect and violates Icelandic traffic regulations.
I have rented cars overseas more than ten times, but this is the first time I've encountered such a rundown car. The odometer showed over 110,000 kilometers, and the car is estimated to be at least ten years old. When returning the car, they charged me more than the entire rental fee without providing a detailed bill. They told me to submit a request online and had an extremely bad attitude.
The car was relatively old. The service at the counter during drop-off was average and somewhat indifferent. However, the airport shuttle service was quite friendly.
Overall satisfied, but two points could be improved: 1. The car is quite old, with 270,000 kilometers driven, and it has many visible damages, including a broken reverse radar. 2. The waiting time for the rental company's shuttle bus was too long, exceeding 35 minutes.
