The staff at the counter tried to give me another smaller car initially stating that it was more fuel/cost efficient. It was only when I refused it that I was offered another car of similar size as the one I had booked but had to wait for 45 minutes for that car to be delivered.

Booking was straightforward although it would be useful to understand what are the alternative cars that could be offered in each category.
Overall satisfied, still waiting for the deposit refund. The rental company said it would take 7 days, but not sure how many days it will actually take.
I had already purchased full insurance, but they kept recommending an additional ten-euro-per-day insurance. They also suggested upgrading the car model, which I accepted. The car was an older model but in good condition and quite new.

The first car had issues with its lighting system, which we discovered ourselves and returned to exchange. After driving the second car for nearly an hour, we received a call informing us of a problem with the vehicle and asking us to return to exchange it or to have it replaced at our destination. When I asked about the issue, they wouldn't tell us. For safety reasons, we returned the car to exchange it again. On the phone, they promised a better car, but it turned out the engine had problems, and they gave us the same model again. It's really irresponsible and frightening in hindsight. Luckily, we made it back. Our destination was far, and if something had happened, it would have been a disaster. Their service was average, they didn't inform us of anything, and the return location was not clearly explained.
I booked a Mercedes A-Class, but upon arrival, they said it was temporarily unavailable and asked me to wait an hour. After an hour, it was still unavailable, so to avoid delaying my trip, I took a Corolla with very poor performance. Currently, I am applying for a refund of the price difference, and I don't know the outcome yet.
I reserved a Mercedes C, and although I didn't get it, I would have been okay with a similar model. Instead, they downgraded me to an SUV, which is very unreliable. I booked this more than half a month in advance, and it still happened. Eventually, I found an Avis offline by myself, and they offered me a 5 Series at the same price. The online service is truly unreliable.
The pickup and car exchange went smoothly. I paid a little extra to switch to a BMW 120. The car was manufactured in December 2024 and is very new with excellent condition.
