We rented a car in France for a trip that included visiting Switzerland. The rental company charges a cross-border fee of €31.96 regardless of the number of days the vehicle is taken out of France. We were advised to visit the nearest branch for clarification. On the next working day, we went to a nearby AVIS location to record the incident. Eventually, the cross-border fee was deducted from the deposit we had prepaid, resolving the issue.
