We were supposed to pick up the car at 9 AM, but they said they only start working at 9 AM and would charge extra to come early to the airport. The rental company was very far from the airport, and we didn't get the car until 10 AM. When we arrived at the office, there was no one there, even though it was past opening time. We had to wait for them to bring out about ten cars. We rented an SUV, and after less than 300 kilometers, it indicated it was out of gas. We seriously suspect the gas tank was tampered with. They even argued that we had a driving problem? We were very dissatisfied with the rental company not informing us that it was about a half-hour drive from the airport, which wasted the tourists' time. Returning the car would be impossible for those on a tight schedule. In the end, we left the car at the gas station outside the airport.

Overall quite satisfied. The car wasn't great, but the service was excellent.

No usb charger or bluetooth

Booked the RAV4 model guaranteed and got exactly that. Fantastic rental overall, especially given the price. 40,000km on the clock but no issues whatsoever. Definitely factor in the extra time for pickup. They will pick you up in a normal car so make sure to ask what registration is on the car doing the pickup and make a note clearly. Also make sure you have something to call in, SIMs are not really available on the arrivals hall from what we saw. Pickup is outside departures before the W pink sign, outside door number 3. Windscreen had pre-existing chips in them which make me a little uneasy - hope there's nothing under the hood being neglected. Overall, will rent again.

Like: Excellent value for 2 day rental of a small older car for visiting friends and family in Auckland. Great Rentals site is easy to find using a navigator on vehicle return as it's close to the Southern and South Western motorways.
Dislike: Distance from the airport takes a bit of extra time, but was OK as a compromise for a better priced weekend rental.
