Smoking is prohibited inside the car, the cleaning fee is extremely high, and the contract needs to be enlarged to read the English instructions!

The pickup process was very quick; the most time-consuming part was reading the terms and conditions. They asked if I needed insurance but didn't push for it. I rented a Yeti and was given a larger diesel Tucson. No deposit was required; they just copied my credit card information. UnionPay is not accepted; you need a Visa or MasterCard. I returned the car outside business hours via self-service, and no additional fees were deducted later.

Make sure to thoroughly check the car when picking it up. The tires on our car were nearly worn out. We had a blowout during the trip, but fortunately, we discovered it the next day before leaving the hotel. The car didn't even have a jack; we had to borrow one to change the spare tire.

Used Alamo in both USA (West Coast) and Iceland. Expect upsell of insurance from Alamo's service staff at the counter, regardless of whatever insurance package you've taken. They will likely sell you: Comprehensive Insurance, Tyre Damage, 24-hr roadside assistance, prepaid fuel, prepaid tolls, windscreen cover etc etc. Each of these items are INDIVIDUAL coverage (requiring top up) and yet there is no "fully comprehensive" option that provides 1-price for all. nonetheless, they cars are generally quite new, fully featured (bluetooth, CarPlay) etc.

Best and easiest booking platform. wide range of service providers, wide range of cars and options and prices. Pay for the VIP upgrade and you'll be assured of the best possible reservation prices. Cancellation options are excellent and also extremely easy to use. However, the price drop protector does not really seem to kick in. I've manually cancelled and rebooked for lower fees, despite the lower charges having met the price drop policy.
