The car rental desk told us that we had to pay extra for an automatic, so our original 50 euro per day rental increased by 33 euros (originally 80+ euros but discounted to 33 euros). After adding various fees (10 euros per day for an additional driver, 70 euros for crossing into Monaco, 20% tax, etc.), our total changed from 500+ euros to 1041 euros before the process was completed.
