There was no car available when picking up, waited for 4 hours, waste of time

Never choose Hertz for car rentals. The queue is long, and any foreign member can cut in line ahead of you. The wait is at least half an hour, and their attitude is terrible. In my many times renting cars abroad, this was the worst experience. Most importantly, they didn't give me the car I booked. I reserved an Alfa Romeo Giulia, but they gave me a Volkswagen Touran instead, claiming it was an upgrade. There were only two adults, so why would we need an MPV? If it hadn't been raining, and my wife and kids hadn't been waiting for an hour and a half, and since it was past the free cancellation period due to the long wait, I would have canceled the order.

The first car they gave me was an Alfa Romeo, but the oil light was on. Luckily, I noticed and requested a change. After communication, they replaced it with an Audi A3. There are major issues with vehicle maintenance.

I booked a microcar through QEEQ at the Hertz location in Milan's central train station. However, I couldn't find the location based on the given address and had to wander around a lot before eventually locating it on a side street near the station. Since there were few people, the paperwork was processed fairly quickly. As I planned to return the car in France, the staff offered me a free upgrade to an SUV that had been driven from France. However, the final charge increased from the originally booked price of 680 euros to 850 euros at checkout. Due to urgent matters, I had no choice but to accept the higher cost.
