About Hertz: 8.7 /10
Service from Hertz in Lille centre was fine once we located the correct office. (see next field). Hertz staff gave us good advice which we heeded, e.g. GPS, auto Versus manual, choice of model. On return of car we forgot to mention to Hertz staff that we noticed one of the reversing lights wasn't working on the Peugout 2008 (FE108FX). I hope they will notice this on their vehicle safety check before

We originally booked a Golf, but seeing we had a lot of luggage, they gave us a Citroen small SUV instead. The GPS in the car costs extra, but it's really useful, even finding country roads.

Over 1.5 hour wait to pick up the loan car. Huge queues. Unexplained €60 fee on drop off. No explanation just "thank you all done" and handed a receipt. Did not notice the charge until I later checked.

They try to rip you off. Take a million photos of the car at pick up time as they will try and sting you for every minuscule scratch on the car when you drop it off. They also take forever to reply to any queries you have and will charge your card without your consent (including the supposed “damage” charges
