Q1.What is an insurance excess?
The excess is the amount you'll only be liable for in case of damage(under Collision Damage Waiver) or theft(under Theft Protection) of the vehicle.
Information about the excess will be clearly stated in the price inclusion when you reserve a car on QEEQ.
Q2. How can I add an addtional driver?
You are advised to make a request upon your arrival at the rental counter. Additional charge per day will incur unless '1 Additional Driver Included' is stipulated on the rental.
Please note that the same licence and age requirement applys to the additonal driver. The addtional driver is supposed to present the required licence document along with the main driver at pickup.
Q3.What if I want to pick up or drop off my rental car out of office hours?
QEEQ will show you the car offers available at your chosen time on the search results.
However, pick-up or drop-off out of general opening hours may subject to an extra fee unless self-service pick-up or drop-off is available.
After you reserve a car on QEEQ, we will inform you of specific policy of the car hire company by email.
Q4. Can I take the hired car to another country or cross border?
If you want to pick up your car in one country and drop it in another, your search results will show you cars you can do that with.
If you're planning to cross any borders during your trip, bear in mind:
1. You may have to pay more.
There are often extra fees, taxes or additional cover you'll pay at the car hire counter.
2.It may not be allowed.
Depending on where you're hiring, you may not be able to take your car to another country.
Please email us if you want to take your hire car into a different country during your trip, and we'll talk you through your options.
Q5. Can I pick up my car at one location and return it at different location?
Yes. You can pick up the vehicle in one place and drop it off in another. An ‘one-way fee’ will incur. Whether it is inclued in the rental price or what additional cost may arise will be clearly stated at the time of booking on QEEQ.
Please inform the car hire company of your drop-off location when you pick up the vehicle or contact them directly during your trip. You will find a phone number on the rental agreement you signed at pickup.

After leaving the airport, there wasn't a separate Payless counter. Upon carefully checking the pickup details, I found out I needed to go to the Budget counter—they seem to be part of the same company. The shuttle bus took us to the pickup location, where we lined up to complete the registration process. There was absolutely no pressure to purchase additional insurance. After some routine procedures, I received a brand-new Kia equipped with CarPlay but no rearview camera or parking sensors. However, I adjusted quickly. Returning the car was also very convenient. Overall, a great experience—highly recommended!

MEX used to have paper contracts, but now they have switched to an electronic system. After hiring a new team of employees, the service quality has improved noticeably—there’s less of the unresponsive attitude from before. Processes are now clearer, and communication is more systematic. That said, the training for new employees still needs to be improved. When selecting a vehicle, you need to be extra cautious to avoid being 'downgraded.' For instance, if you book a Kia Forte, make sure you get at least an Omoda O5, Jetta, or Nissan Sentra; otherwise, it’s considered a downgrade, so be vigilant! If you reserve an MG, it’s common to be given an MG5 or a KIA K3 instead. And if you get an Omoda, don’t get too excited—the car usually has over 20,000 kilometers on it and may have some minor issues like low tire pressure (you may need to inflate them at a gas station), damaged in-car equipment (CarPlay might not work, backup cameras could malfunction), and more. If you can deal with these minor issues, go ahead with the rental; otherwise, you’ll need to request a replacement vehicle. In conclusion, stay patient and enjoy driving in Mexico!

It was easy to find the shuttle bus location after landing. The driver was enthusiastic and took us to the rental car hall. There you need to get a number from the machine first. The staff handling the paperwork were relatively slow, and we waited for at least half an hour. However, the car pickup process was very smooth, with no upselling, and we got the car quickly.

The service was quite good, with no upselling whatsoever. We simply paid the deposit and took the car. However, the vehicle was a bit old and worn out. I always thought Mexicans might be inefficient, but it turned out to be fine. Our car tire got punctured by a nail in Guanajuato. We contacted the local car rental office at 11 a.m., and since none of the local staff spoke English, we communicated via WhatsApp. By 1 p.m., they arrived at our parking spot, inflated the tire, then drove to a nearby repair shop for inspection and patched the tire. By 2 p.m., the car was returned to us. Considering the complete language barrier, the entire process was handled very satisfactorily.

The car rental company in Cancun didn't overly push selling insurance, but they required a $6000 deposit. Even though my credit card limit was sufficient, the authorization was repeatedly declined. I wanted to cancel the reservation and negotiate with another company on the spot, but as soon as I stepped outside, they called me back and the deposit suddenly dropped to $800!

Aside from the staff's persistence in promoting insurance, everything else was great. I had already purchased the highest level of insurance on the platform, but the staff kept recommending additional coverage, which was a bit annoying. In the end, I had to pay a deposit of over 50,000 pesos. Additionally, the car's fuel tank wasn't full when I picked it up, and I only noticed it after getting on the highway, which almost left me stranded due to low fuel. Fortunately, the issue was noted in the rental agreement, so technically there wasn't a problem. However, for those who aren't attentive or don't read the contract thoroughly, it could turn into a hidden pitfall. This can be especially troublesome for people who are not fluent in English.

They don't have a telephone number to reach the counter at the airport and people who answers the phone from the general number are not well informed about the schedules and process, they couldn't even find my reservation.
