This was my first time renting a car overseas, and I was very satisfied with Budget! We originally rented a Mondeo, but the staff noticed we had a lot of luggage and offered to upgrade us to a Volkswagen with a larger trunk for just 7 euros more per day. This turned out to be the right decision. The car was in excellent condition; it was a diesel and had only 7800 kilometers on it, making it very fuel-efficient. We drove 1700 kilometers in total and spent 138 euros on fuel. Returning the car was also very easy and hassle-free. The staff inspected the car and immediately processed the return. The simplicity exceeded our expectations.

There is no office or even a counter here. Three days before picking up the car, I had to send a bunch of documents, and they claimed not to receive them. On the day, I had to get a number ticket at the Nuremberg Visitor Center to pick up the car, and the rental company was completely unaware of this?
