35 mins to pick up in 2 degrees Celsius, the van was waiting at the wrong bus stop behind a bus and with no signage on the front. The driver did at least help me with one of my three cases once we had finally found each other. Check in was complicated because of having to use the self check in machine, even though there were no other customers present and at least two staff working on the desk. The first vehicle issued was not read worthy due to a defective passenger-side mirror, which should not have been released for rental. The vehicle was swapped when I complained. The car was collected in the dark and covered in overnight moisture so some damage was not noticed on the rear driver-side wheel arch; this was only found when I reached my initial destination. Vehicle collection should be arranged in a well-lit area to ensure that no such damage is missed by the renter. The vehicle ran well and is comfortable. The shuttle can does not run frequently enough so I was waiting almost 30 mins after dropping off the vehicle to return the airport.

All good. I received a price drop 'discount' prior to picking up the vehicle.

The counter staff member was rude and offhand. I also found him to be evasive and somewhat shifty. He did not have the mini car group which I had booked- suggesting that we might wait some undetermined time for a late return or offering us a 9-seater vehicle instead. He then insisted that I was required to give a £2500 credit card deposit which he said would be held for 2 weeks- this larger deposit due to the fact it was a larger vehicle than I had booked. There was no offer of compensation for this mistake and no acknowledgement of the extra fuel that this vehicle would consume at my expense, or of the difficulties in manouvering this large vehicle in traffic, etc. Even in the light of this failure to supply the pre-booked vehicle, I felt this was an unneccessarily adversarial encounter. At the pick up point in an underground car park 3 blocks away the final check and release was conducted efficiently and courteously. This also was true for the return check and sign off as 'all fine'.

Like: Booked a compact car and got a free upgrade to a luxury range which was a brand new mini cooper! Excellent customer service at pick up and drop off, fast and efficient.
Dislike: The shuttle bus from Heathrow T4 to car rental during pick up and drop off, took over 1 hour each way. Distance is not far but due to the multiple stops at hotels/locations, it took over 1 hour. I was nearly late for my flight.
