[Experience with CIAO Car Rental: A Disappointing Car Rental Experience] As frequent travelers who often rent cars abroad (with dozens of rental experiences), this was the worst car rental experience we have encountered. Below is a summary of the issues for other travelers' reference: 1. Location and Accessibility Issues • The rental counter is not located inside the airport, requiring a long shuttle ride to reach the rental location, which wastes significant time. • Upon inquiry with other well-known car rental companies inside the airport, none had heard of this brand. • Customer service staff had difficulty communicating in English, leading to delays in finding the shuttle pick-up point. 2. Downgraded Vehicle and Condition Issues • The actual vehicle provided was significantly different from the reserved one: the reserved Citroën C3 was replaced with a smaller Lancia model. • The vehicle had performance issues: struggled on mild inclines and could only reach a maximum speed of 90 km/h even with the accelerator fully pressed. • The vehicle was in poor condition: the rear bumper had visible cracks, posing safety concerns. 3. Unreasonable Deposit Policy • A deposit of up to 600 euros was required (much higher than the industry standard). • The deposit refund mechanism lacked transparency, raising concerns about fund security. • Major rental companies often waive deposits; consumers are advised to prioritize reputable brands. 4. Security Concerns • Items were lost from inside the car, with the possibility of staff being involved. • Important Reminder: When traveling in Europe, always keep a close eye on your belongings and never let your luggage out of sight. Conclusion: This rental experience failed to meet basic standards of convenience, integrity, service quality, and safety assurance. Strongly recommend that travelers choose more reliable car rental providers.

1) The counter staff was very friendly and helpful. 2) The release of the deposit was immediate! 3) We booked full to full fuel tank, however it was then level to level (which I usually avoid), even though accaptable. 4) The pickup instructions were incorrect. Instructions said exit 8, while it was actually 3. The info on the pickup van was also incorrect, however we managed to get there. I would use this company again when in Milan. Overall good and happy with the service.
