With the help of customer service from the rental platform, they agreed that we could pick up the car if we obtained an entry code. We went back to the border police, got the entry code, and returned to the rental counter. However, the staff then claimed the code was invalid and again refused to let us pick up the car. Interestingly, other rental companies accepted this code without issue, and we ended up renting a car from another company. The car pickup process was exhausting and wasted most of our day. Even worse, when returning the car, despite the vehicle being in good condition with no damages and more fuel than when we rented it, the counter insisted on charging us 2,532 Saudi riyals. This was excessive since we only exceeded the mileage by a little over 1,000 kilometers, which should have amounted to no more than 800 riyals as agreed. When I requested an explanation for the extra charges, the employee shouted loudly, confiscated my inspection and vehicle return receipt, and even attempted to restrict my personal freedom. To ensure my safety and avoid further impacting my schedule, I had no choice but to find a way to leave the situation. The resolution of this will depend on the platform handling the case afterward.
