Pretty good, no unnecessary complications. The pickup process was quick, and they provided a new car with only a few hundred kilometers on it. Upon return, they checked the car's condition and fuel level, and the pre-authorization was canceled very fast. The deposit was only 200 euros.

Madeira airport is not very large, and the car rental company is located within the airport. The procedures were quick and there were no issues. Madeira's roads are mostly mountainous, especially in the old town, where many roads have steep gradients of over 30 degrees. If you're not an experienced driver, I really don't recommend driving in Madeira, as the roads can feel like a roller coaster and most people will find them challenging.

The check at pickup to reconcile the faults in the car beforehand were not done at all. Also the document I signed at the drop off was not sent to my email

Like: Friendly efficient service. Vehicle very nice, very new. Very happy with it
Dislike: Only drawback - I enrolled as primary driver. I gave my wife’s licence as a backup in case of emergency (I was unable to drive due to medical emergency etc). I was not told that there would be a charge for secondary driver, but when I returned the car there was an additional charge which they would not remove. I would not have included my wife as a potential driver if I had known there would be an additional charge. Regardless of this it was good value and staff was friendly, efficient, and courteous.
