The processing time was long, and additional taxes had to be paid at the end.

AVIS claimed they don't have the car category that I booked and told me I must upgrade for an extra charge even though it's their fault. Very bad service.

The staff seemed inefficient, spent at least half an hour talking to the family in front.

In contrast to other car rental agencies, AVIS still uses plenty of paper. This spends time at the counter (I waited 40 minutes at the counter, although I was second in the line) and is also less safe. For instance, instead of SMSing the immobilizer's code, they write it on a little piece of paper within the car itself, thus making the car more vulnerable to theft.
