Qeeq is easy to use and Alamo was great.

Based on my experience this time, I chose Alamo primarily because of its high rating of 9.8. My actual experience matched the rating. Another reason is that both pickup and drop-off are located within the walkable area of the airport, which is very convenient. During pickup, although there was no one at the counter initially, a staff member arrived within about 5 minutes after a phone call to complete the process. There were no insurance upsell attempts, and they informed me that if any issues arise, I would need to claim with my domestic insurance company. There was no additional payment for upgraded services. The pickup spot is located in the parking lot just below the arrival level at Brisbane Airport, which is extremely convenient—just a few steps away. For drop-off, it was also inside Sydney Airport, but it's important to pay attention and not miss the correct turn. The car I got was quite new, with a mileage of 16,000 km. Although it was a small car, it came with auxiliary features like cruise control. The power was sufficient and perfectly adequate as long as you avoid gravel roads.

Overall great quick service, but the cigarette adapter on the first car didn't work. So I had to exchange the car. Since so many personal electronics rely on that power adapter working, Alamo should check that it works as part of it's regular check of a car before making it available for rental. Had I not detected that issue myself I could have ended up without a map (As I use it to power my GPS) a few hours after leaving the airport (when battery of my portable GPS got empty), and that would have totally ruined my trip as there is NO way that I could find myself around a complex time sensitive itinerary without a GPS.

We waited in line for 30 minutes and by the time we were seen, it was already later then the time we booked the car for. Alamo told us they had a car but needed to go clean it first so it would be even longer. We couldn't wait as we were hurry to get to our destination so took the car not fully cleaned which was fine luckily - the man at the desk said to bring the car back at 6/8 (three quarters) full of fuel due to the inconvenience of the car not being clean which was great. On returning the car, it was 7/8 full of fuel and the man there questioned us and we stood around for 10 minutes trying to explain what had happened and that we didn't have to bring it back full. He eventually took our word for it but it was frusterating that nothing was documented online to support this information. We have another booking with Alamo in a few weeks and think we will cancel due to the service.
