Very bad experience. When picking up the car, they didn’t show me the compensation standards for any scratches or damages. When returning the car, we found out that the front bumper was scratched (which was already damaged when we picked up the car). They immediately gave me a bill for 8960 THB. How can it be more expensive to spray paint a bumper on a car worth a few thousand bucks than on my Mercedes? I didn’t sign to approve this charge, but they deducted it nonetheless.
Due to a long wait for the visa on arrival, I reached the car rental counter around 22:00 instead of the originally planned 19:00. The staff initially wrote the pickup and return times as 19:00, which I corrected upon noticing. The car was not fully fueled, and when I pointed this out, the staff either didn't understand or pretended not to. They still marked the fuel level as full on the rental form. Given the late hour, I chose not to argue further.
I booked Nissan Almera but the counter staff gave me a new Toyata Yaris to drive. Though there's scratches and the boot hatch has problems, the car is in good condition.
Like: Rented GPS which could still have location when google maps went offline due to no signal in the mountains. Dislike: Although the rented GPS comes with English language, it is hard to search for places in English due to differences in spelling when Thai is translated to English. Not as intuitive as Google maps, which I depended on most of the time.
